Trading in pharmaceutical products is a core industry not only in Uganda‘s economy, but in the respective economies of the wider East African region. With a paucity of local pharmaceutical manufacturers to meet the growing demand, the majority of the supply continues to be met by importing drugs and medicines. This business is growing at a rapid pace and continues to do so, in line with the country’s population growth, as well as the export potential to neighbouring countries such as Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Tanzania and South Sudan.
