The main building houses the reception, accounts, hospital records, a dispensing pharmacy, the emergency room and receiving area, two operating theatres (one for major surgery and the other for minor surgeries), a central sterilization chamber, changing rooms for doctors, a maternity ward with a delivery room, a post-operative ward, a male medical ward, a female medical ward, a male surgical ward, a female surgical ward and one pediatric ward (each ward has a 24 hour nursing station), seven consulting rooms for doctors, an endoscopy room, and a treatment room.
The top floor has a multi-purpose kitchen alongside a 32-seater canteen to provide meals and refreshments for hospital staff, inpatients/outpatients and visitors to the hospital. Each floor has toilet and bathing facilities for inpatients, the annex building has toilets for out-patients and hospital visitors. The annex building also houses the hematological and biochemical laboratory, the x-ray room, the dental room and the examination room for ultra sound and cardio-vascular investigations.
Msasani Peninsula Hospital will initially offer medical services in five areas; gynecology/obstetrics, pediatrics, general surgery, orthopedics and dentistry. Beds and furnishings for in-patient/outpatient needs, OTs and operating lights for the theatres together with the hematological and bio-chemical laboratory equipment have been sourced from abroad.
